  1. Well, that is a good question...

    A VOR-DME approach is a non-precision approach.

They are all different in the idea that some may bring you straight into the runway. Some will bring you in at an angle. The landing off of this approach is no different than landing at any other time..

You go down to minimums...and if you break into visual conditions..continue the landing approach as necessary for the landing...get configured..etc...

I'm trying to think of anything that may be special about it...but that is pretty much the plain and simple of it.....

  2. Fly the depicted procedure track, and fly the altitudes as depicted.

Specify the airport and approach, and what you don't understand.

  3. Then don't shoot a VOR-DME approach!!!  I would say use the approach plate (chart) but apparently your to dumb to use it.

  4. VOR is the beacon that will cause the CDI to deflect if you stray off track.  DME is Distance Measuring Equipment that tells you how far you are from the beacon.  Your chart should indicate what bearings/radials/altitudes you should be on/at at specific distances from the airport.
