Question:

VOR navigation in Cessna Skyhawk?

IN FSX, Can someone tell me how to do VOR navigation in cessna Skyhawk, it has COM1, COM2 and NAV1 and NAV2 & even if i opt for flight plan the CDS dont move and there is always red and white strips coming on VOR display.

  1. I have never played the game but it sounds like you don't have Nav1 or Nav2 tuned to a frequency. That's the reason for the red/white flag, they aren't receiving a signal.


  2. You must tune one of the NAV radios to your VOR frequency, then use the corresponding instrument to fly towards it, by adjusting the instrument with the OBS k**b until the needle is centered and then flying the heading at the top of the instrument.

    If there is a red flag in the instrument, it's not receiving the VOR signal, so either you have the wrong frequency tuned or you are out of range.  Usually you have to be in the air and within line of sight of the VOR to receive it successfully, and different types of VORs have different ranges, so if you are too far away you won't receive it.

  3. I can give you a VOR frequency that you can use and more details if you tell me which airport that you are flying out of!

  4. Vor is also line of sight so if a mountain is in the way or to far you can't use the station
