  1. first you start off w/ your knees slightly bent

    (if you are right handed)

you will take a medium step with your left leg. (kind of falll into the step) and let your arms hang down in front of you

as you make the quick right left steps bring your arms back as far as they can go.

then lift your body up with both arms. find the ball. and swing.

since you have had your knees bent, and your arms way back then you can get at least 2-4 inches added on to what you are currently jumping.

    other things:

    1. The quicker your approach the more momentum you will have to jump higher and swinger harder.

    2. Make sure you follow through your swing and snap your wrist.

    3. Bring your other arm down straight when you swing, so it doesn't twist your body around.

    4. Before you swing arch your body back so that you are using your core and more of your body for power in your swing

keep practicing this over and over to build muscle memory then add a ball.

  2. I'm pretty good, and I still have trouble with spiking.  Just practice getting your hands used to it (slapping the ball on the ground [aka dribbling] and noticing where it feels the strongest) and spiking like  you overhand serve.

  3. its all in footwork and timing... you dont have to be strong to kill the ball... it's how fast you can snap it down.

    4 step approach;

let your arms hang loose in front of you

    baby steps right left

big steps right left and pull yourself up by swinging your arms into the air

pull your right arm back with your left arm pointing to the ball

    open up to it

arch your back then use your weight and arm momentum to snap the ball down with your wrist

jump higher so you can follow through better [makes the ball hit down instead of out of the court

  4. take steps ; right ,left, right  well, depends on if you are left or right handed ,then jump and smack the ball with your hand and break your wrist

  5. ok so u will need to master the approach first. start at the ten foot line and go big right step, big left step, then little right step (its kinda like a hop or something)-if ur left handed then the approach will be the same just ooposite like left, right, left. after ur little right step jump and swing. while taking ur approach u will also need to use ur arms meaning that when u take ur big right step ur arms need to be out in front of u so that when u take ur left step u have enough momentum to swing ur arms back and then forward again when u take ur little right step. when u take ur swing make sure u snap ur wrist and get ur elbow up

  6. I always suggest breaking it down into the parts.

Mark off a 10 foot line at your house or in your yard.  Start where you would like to land just near the net.  If you are right handed, take a big step with your left, a big step with your right and a small step with your left.  The last step should be close to your other foot.  It is called a closure step and helps you go up and not forward.  Wherever you land is your starting point for the rest of your approaches.  Start at that point and do your approach.  Hustle back to your starting point and do another approach.  Do 10 and take a 1 minute break.  Do 10 and so on.  Do at least 100 approaches every day.  More if you have time.

Find a wall and a volleyball.  Toss the ball so that you have to reach high to hit it.  Hit it with your hand slightly cupped.  That will put the topspin on the ball to bring it into the court.  Hit the ball to the ground so that it will bounce back into the air.  If the ball is at the right height to hit, hit it again.  If it is not the right height to hit, catch it and toss it again.  You will see players hit the ball over and over again, no matter what the height.  That practices bad form.  You want to get your form correct by hitting the ball every time with your arm fully extended.  EVERY time.

Now it is time to try both together.  If you have someone that can give you a short toss like the 1 set in the middle, do your approach and hit the ball.  The person tossing the ball should try to hit your hand while you are swinging.  If you do not have a tosser like that, see if they can set you.  You should try to hit 100 a day.  Or more.

If you keep working everything separately, it will help.  It is impossible to think about your feet and the ball at the same time.  Your approach needs to be automatic while you watch and time the ball.

    Good luck.

  7. DO AN APPROACH  either  right left right left or left right left

the last 2 are faster swim your arm snap your wrist hit hard am for the corner
