VRO/VOB editing program - anyone know the link for free download? Thanks?

My new panasonic DVD video camera records in VRO/VDO but does not come pre-package with an editing software . I need a sotware that can edit the results. Please advise where can I download a free/ shareware that works. Thanks

DVDs use MPEG-2 video, which is not a good choice for editing.  Most commercial editors can handle it, but some do a better job than others - I'm told that Womble is a good choice, but I've never used it in anger.

If you've only just got the camcorder I'd consider exchanging it for a MiniDV one.
