VRT driver Jerome d’Ambrosio: I am looking forward to upcoming Korean Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Virgin Racing Team driver Jerome d’Ambrosio has said that he is looking forward to the upcoming Korean Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held at the Korea International Circuit on Sunday, October 16, 2011.
D’Ambrosio talked to the media and added that he has spent a couple of days in Tokyo before heading to Korea, where he did some training and prepared himself for the Korean race weekend.
He also mentioned that he felt in the last two races that he has built up a strong momentum, which he hopes he can keep on until the end of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Talking to reporters, the Belgian driver commented, “I’m looking forward to this race – the track was definitely a fun one to drive (in Friday practice) last year, even with just my brief experience of it. It’s a very different kind of race, coming from
somewhere like Japan where F1 is very established and the fans are just incredible with their support, to a new territory like this and seeing how it can grow from the grass-roots level.”
He went on to mention, “I feel that in the last two races built up a strong momentum which I hope I can continue to the end of the season.”
The 25-year-old driver further added that he learnt a lot of things with each new race and really enjoyed all the new experiences as well.
The team driver d’Ambrosio has failed to score single point for Virgin Racing team in the ongoing season so far.
In recently held Japanese Grand Prix, the team driver was unable to put on a decent performance. After starting the Grand Prix from the 20th position at the Suzuka circuit, he came at the 21st place on the final race classifications.
His teammate Timo Glock was also slow on the grid in the 2011 Suzuka race. He finished his Grand Prix in the 20th spot after starting from the 21st position at the Japanese racetrack.
Let’s see how both of the drivers Glock and d’Ambrosio manage the 2011 Korean Grand Prix this weekend.
