VRT driver Jerome d’Ambrosio: I am very excited for upcoming Belgium Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Virgin Racing Team driver Jerome d’Ambrosio has said that he is very excited at the moment as he is going to race in front of his home fans at the Belgium Grand Prix.
The upcoming 12th Formula 1 event will begin from August 26, 2011 at Spa-Francorchamps.
D’Ambrosio added that this weekend is very special for him and that he is going to enjoy every moment of the race at the Spa circuit ahead of his home crowd.
The team driver further mentioned that despite his disappointing results in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far he is looking forward to a successful race weekend in Belgium.
Talking to reporters, the 25-year-old driver said, “It's been a long time since Belgium had a Formula 1 driver, so it's going to be a very special weekend both for me and the fans and I'm going to try to enjoy every moment. There's nothing
like racing at home and Spa is clearly one of my absolute favourite circuits.”
He added, “It really is one of the most challenging laps in the world. And we can't forget the legendary corner of Eau Rouge. It's just amazing! It's been great to have a break and chill out with my friends and family, staying away from planes and
hotels. I am now fully prepared for the weekend at Spa.”
The Dinnington-based outfit driver discussed with the media that the Spa circuit has long and high-speed straights, hills and well-known corners. However, he added that it will be a very interesting race at the Spa circuit this weekend.
D’Ambrosio is still not able to score single point for the team in the 2011 Formula 1 season. In the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team driver started his Grand Prix from the 24th place on the Hungaroring race circuit and after
putting all of his efforts, he came at the 19th place in the final race classifications.
His teammate Timo Glock was also slow on the racetrack in Budapest. After starting the race from the 20th place on the grid, he ended up in the 17th spot for the team.
Let’s see how both of the drivers perform at the upcoming Belgium Grand Prix following the Hungarian race.
