Question:

VST plug-in soaking up my memory?

I am running two music composition programs on my computer simultaneously (rewired into each other master/slave) I have a 2.4 GHz computer with 2 gigs of ram. When i run a specific VST plug-in on one of them my Memory usage spikes to 70% instantly. And if I play the song it is being used for it spikes to 100% making it stutter and un-workable.

When i disable the VST my memory usage instantly drops to 50%. It plays fine without the VST but soon as I enable it again the song takes up all the memory on my computer. Not having the effect in my song is NOT an option. The only solutions are a replacement that works just as well or a fix to the current problem.

The VST program is called Wahwactor and it adds a wah-wah effect to instruments. The editing programs are Fruity Loops and Reason 4.
