http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 tour as important series – Cricket News Update
Indian Test old hand, VVS Laxman feels that the Australian tour will be an important series for the team and hopes to perform well against a side; he has had relatively more success than any other cricketing nation in the recent past.
The Men In Blue are currently playing on their home soil and earned resounding successes against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 before playing
another characteristically classy knock of 176 not out, to wrap up a series win before the third and final Test, which starts today at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820.
In a staggering career spanning over 15 years, the 37-year-old has played some memorable knocks for the sub-continent giants and has earned praise for his methodical batting against Australia at a time, where they possessed the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 and Glenn
McGrath in their prime forms.
Following the conclusion of the ongoing Test match, the Men In Blue will take on Australia in an away tour, and Laxman like many of his teammates wants to be prepared well enough to come up trumps, in what he terms as an important series.
"I think Australia is going to be a very important series. But we are very happy with the way we have played in the last two Tests. In the Delhi Test we forced our way out of a tough situation. That showed the potential in the team,” said the Indian veteran.

"It's good that we go to Australia with a positive frame of mind and a lot of confidence. The results show that West Indies haven't done well, but if you look at every session, I would say they were quite good," Laxman said.
The player has featured in 25 Tests involving his national team and the Aussies, scored over 2000 runs at an impressing average of 55.59 – the best against Kangaroos by an Indian.
A difficult task lies ahead, however given the form of batsman; he will again look to initiate one last try at over powering the Kangaroos on their backyard before finally bidding farewell to International Cricket.
