The veteran Indian batsman, VVS Laxman, has set his sights on smashing a match-winning century in the Lord’s Test during the upcoming tour of England.
The two teams are scheduled to meet in the four-match series this summer and the first Test will be played at Lord’s from July 21 to July 25, 2011.
The Lord’s Test will be a special one for both teams as it will be the 100th Test between England and India and the 2000th match in the history of five-day cricket.
Laxman has played seven Tests in England but he is yet to score his first ton on English soil. In his overall Test career, the elegant stroke-maker has participated in 120 Tests in which he scored 16 centuries.
Laxman is just 97 runs http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107 of his 8000 mark in Test cricket, while his batting average is 47.32.
Laxman stated that he does not want to waste this opportunity of scoring a hundred at Lord's as it might be his last tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
"I never got a 100 in England. Hopefully, it would be very special if I get a 100 at Lord`s and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 wins the match", said Laxman, who was recently appointed as vice-captain, of the Indian Test team.

When asked whether he set any targets for the imminent Test series against Caribbean XI, the 36-year old batsman articulated that he always loves to perform well overseas and will look to deliver one-hundred percent against the Windies.
"There are three tough overseas series. Playing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in West Indies is always a tough competition. My goal is to put up a good performance and play some match-winning knocks", he explained.
Laxman, meanwhile, expressed that the Men in Blue have a decent chance in the Test series against West Indies despite admitting the fact that it will not be child’s play for the tourists.
