"You always want to prove yourself against the toughest opposition,” said the right-handed batsman while talking to the media reporters at the end of the first day of the two-day warm up match against Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI at Canberra.
“Most of the Australian teams I have played against had some great players, and it was a challenge to take them on. It has always brought the best out of me," he added further.
The Hyderabad batsman had always troubled the Australian attack. During his previous tours down under, the veteran batsman made the Australian bowlers seat against his wristy strokes and painstaking game.
The Michael Clarke-lead armour is no doubt one of the most inexperienced Australia sides Laxman has ever played; however, the legendary Test batsman is no mood to be complacent against the callow Kangaroos.
Laxman said that the fighting spirit in the Australian camps makes them the toughest opposition in the world.
