VVV-Venlo’s Ruud Boymans on AZ Alkmaar radar – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from AZ Stadion confirm that AZ Alkmaar have joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruud-Boymans-c31963, at the end of the season. The outfit from Alkmaar see Boymans as the successor to their departing striker, Graziano Pelle.
Despite VVV struggling to achieve respectable results, Boymans has performed brilliantly throughout the season. The 22-year-old striker found the back of the net on 11 occasions in 30 appearances this season. His good performances for the struggling outfit
from Venlo have attracted interest from AZ, who are keen to add the young striker to their ranks in the upcoming summer transfer market.
The Dutch national earlier hinted to take the next step in his career by moving to a bigger club at the end of the season. Moreover, he refused to extend his ongoing contract that sees him at De Koel Stadion until the summer of 2012. Reports suggest that
an offer in the region of 2.5 million Euros would be enough to lure VVV management to let go off their prized asset.
The outfit from Alkmaar see the 22-year-old striker as an ideal replacement for their departing striker Pelle, who wants to pursue his career outside of Netherlands in the upcoming season. Moreover, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571’s striker, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, also looks set to leave
his side in the upcoming summer transfer market, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 Amsterdam and Bundesliga outfit, Borussia Dortmund, are taking keen interest in taking his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window. AZ have reportedly set a five million Euro price tag on
their prized asset.
AZ have finished their 2010/11 Eredivisie campaign in fourth place in the league table. They have qualified to play in UEFA Europa League group stages next season. However, it seems like they have to add some new faces to their ranks in the upcoming transfer
market if they have any ambition to compete in the Europe’s secondary club competition successfully.
On the other hand, VVV have finished 17th in the league table and will participate in the relegation play-offs. The outfit from Venlo would be looking to win the play-offs if they have any intention to play in the Dutch top flight next season.
Should they manage to prolong their stay in Eredivisie, they might hold on to their prized asset for the upcoming season.
