Question:

VW Golf turns off while driving, what should I do???

When my bf drives his VW Golf, as soon as he's slowing down or removing his foot from the gas the car turns off and all the lights come up (check engine, air bag, etc), then he has to take out the key, and put it back and try to start the car again sometimes it starts right up, other times it takes him two or three times. It does this every time we're driving, and sometimes it happens when he's driving, not just when he's slowing down. What can this be? Vaccum leak? Oxygen sensor? This is really becoming frustrating and dangerous since it's done it even when we're turning to exit or enter the highway.

  1. fuel filter and bad gas... most like... try a new fuel filter and a bottle of fuel treatment

  2. You ask what to do. Rather than swapping out o2 sensors, filters, plugs, etc....I would take the vehicle to a reputable repair facility and pay a professional to diagnose the problem for you. Most shops only charge one hours labor so figure around 100 dollars. This will identify exactly what is causing your problem.
