In Novemeber, my family and I are going away on a cruise for my 16th birthday which is in Feburary, and my daughter will have just turned 5. Is a cruise a okay vaction for her to come on or is she too young? and are there any excerssions (sp?) then I shouldn't take her on?

Also what should I pack for her. We've never been on vaction with her before so I'm not sure. The cruise is going to Jamacia and places like that so what should I bring?

  1. Yes, she can go with you! Depending on what line you're going on, they will have a children's area that I'm sure she will LOVE. Your parents are doing the booking and stuff, right? They won't book anything they don't think your daughter could handle.

Pack several pairs of shirts, shorts, pants, underwear, etc. Take a jacket in case it's cool-sometimes (especially in November) it will be cool at night on the ship.

  2. awww! I think that it;s fine. Just make sure your activites are age appropriate. Like if she can't swim dont have excersions all inthe water you know.

Just have fun and keep an eye on her. Just bring everything you'd bring for yourself. But bring some warm clothes just in case it gets cold.

    Have fun!!

  3. My in-laws just came back from a cruise and said that there were lots and lots of younger children on the cruise. The mentioned too that there is a ton of stuff to do on the cruise for them including a "day care" like club area where you can drop them off to do activities for the day or whatever. I gather it is quite the fun thing to do. They also went to several islands and said that there are many tours that you can do while in port such as snorkling, scuba diving, sightseeing and shopping. So I highly doubt there will be a lack of stuff to do. The cruise line they went on had a movie theater, etc for all ages.

  4. You'll be 16 with a 5 year old daughter?

I apologize. After reading what you wrote after my post, I looked at your profile and realize that this wasn't a typo and it doesn't appear to me that you're a troll. I'm very sorry.

I think a 5 year old would enjoy a cruise. There are usually tons of things for children to do on cruises and I bet you will all have a blast!

  5. Of course she should come, I don't see why a parent would question of their child could come on vacation with them.   I think you just wanted a rise out of people, because you had had her at 11 years old.  sick.
