Has anyone stayed at the Sol Mar Beach club or the Playa Grande and did you like it. Are there any good land tours you took? Spa services you liked? Thank you very much!

  1. We have stayed At the Sol Mar Beach Club three times now. We originally bought a week from someone who had a timeshare and went for my first trip to Cabo. I fell in love with it!

We stayed at Solmar and like so many other tourists in cabo, we got stuck into a time share presentation which happened to be at its sister hotel next door- Playa Grande. When we went there we didnt like what we saw...it was BRAND new with a lot of space nad people and I felt like a number. We like the secluded places that are more quiet hotels.

Upon the end of the tour we saw that they would actually sell us a timeshare at Solmar Suites which was where we were staying. lets just say the price was right and we love it so much and look forward to going each year!

We have a suite right on the beach...you are litterally 10 steps away from the sand. The only thing this is on the PACIFIC (No swimming!) side of Cabo. The fantastic thing is that you can hear the waves rolling in each night, the rooms are spotless, the beach is there, the "lovers beach" is right around the corner and you can hike/climb the rocks to put you right underneath the arches on the other side by sea of cortez! Nothing else like it!

Solmar is "out there" meaning you can walk into town but its kind of a hefty walk. The 3 times I have been to cabo in the last three years I have never rented a car. Its a long walk but we enjoy walking to downtown. There are plenty of things to do and the restaurant at hte hotel isnt too bad. I have never had the room service, but they do allow you to rent a car if you want (we actually did for a one day trip to Todos Santos...not really reccomended as it was kind of a let down :( and there is also a discount activities desk, internet connection, three pools, hot tubs, BEACH BEACH and more bEach! not to mention the happy hour at the swim up bars! GOTTA LOVE IT!

I would reccomend this to anyone who is traveling to Cabo for their first time. Its not the huge HIGH RISE resorts that pack you in like sheep....expect a more laid back approach with a clean room, the breeze of the ocean blowing in and the roaring sounds of utter relaxation rolling on the sand!
