Do I need some kind of documentation b/4 I go on vacation to Mexico with my daughter even though I am primary custodial parent?

  1. YES YOU NEED TO PROVE THAT YOUR ARE THE LEGAL GUARDIAN OF THE MINOR, PLUS YOU NEED A FAMILY PASSPORT AND THE PERMITION OF THE MOTHER TO TAKE THE CHILD TO MEXICO


  2. If you are FLYING, you both need passports. If you are travellng by LAND, you need a photo I.D. and a proof of citizenship...EITHER a passport or birth certificate and the child needs her birth certificate.  Unless the other paent is not living or has had parental rights completely terminated...and you have documentation of  that..you must have  a  letter of permission from the other parent stating you my take the child to Mexico..signed and notarized. This is Mexican law. See site below and  read section on MINORS under "Entry Requirements.
