  1. Virgin Islands.

  2. Grand Cayman uses their own currency, and it will bankrupt you with our dollar being rather worthless. We spent about $26 US for just a hamburger, fries and coke at a little cafe.  It's overly expensive in Grand Cayman.  USVI uses American Dollar, and it's also tax-free.  Your money will go a lot further there for now, until the American dollar gets some of its value back.  Also, your cell phone will work in the USVI and it should not have roaming charges (mine doesn't with tmobile)  also, a basic long distance calling card you buy at Target or whereever still works in USVI, as a domestic call.  If you use a calling card in Cayman you get hit with high international phone rates.   Postage from USVI is the same as USA, so you can send post cards to your friends for 27 american cents.  To mail a postcard from Cayman it's going to cost you the equivalent of a dollar.  They have lots of McDonalds and Burger Kings in USVI, and other convenient places, while at the same time being exotic.
