Vacation in the East Coast? Top Sail Beach?

Question

what are some nice beaches in the East Coast near Pennsylvania? Keep in mind we are looking for an affordable, nice, famly vacation, with a nice beach (to relax!)

We have been looking into TopSail Beach, North Carolina and have heard that it is nice for a small vacation (4 days, 3 nights). Has anyone ever been there, and did you like it?

And yes, we have heard of Myrtle beach, but we are going near the holidays, and that beach will become very busy, so we want a smaller, quite, less populated beach.

I liked top sail just enough activity to not get bored and beautiful houses along the beach.  I also like Virginia Beach.  Top Sail is just south of a large Marine base so there are lots of cute guys around.  And everyone is polite.

I agree with Becka on Virginia Beach and Sandbridge...Sandbridge is more remote abt 20 mins from VB. I am actually going to Mytrle Beach but after the 4th, cant imagine going near a holiday. I have never heard of TopSail, sounds interesting. I am in PA as well. Have you checked out Delaware's Beaches?

Virginia has nice beaches. Virginia Beach is nice and so is Sandbridge

Did you think about the NJ shore?  If you are looking for a family getaway try Ocean City or Long Beach Island.  They are both great for families.
