Vacation in the UK? Where & What?

If I were to vacation in the UK what part would you recommend and what would i do?

that so much depends on what sort of things you like and what you would be coming to the UK for ... as you're saying "vacation" I will assume you're from the US ... most American tourists want to see London and historical things like castles, old houses etc ... but that's not all there is to do in this country ... we have museums, theatre, lovely scenery, culture, art etc etc etc

I am British and live in the UK ... I've been to quite a number of places but there's always still more to see ... my favourite parts are west Cornwall (St Ives, Penzance), far north west of Scotland (Cape Wrath), Yorkshire Dales ... I'll be going for a week in a country cottage with two of my daughters next week and we're going to north Norfolk which is very pretty but a little bit flat (the countryside is fairly flat I mean, not the life) ... as we live in a city we're looking forward to green fields and fresh country air
