Vacation to France and Italy?

My friend and I are going to Europe to celebrate high school graduation in late June/early July. We are going to paris first for sure (we have to visit a family friend), but where should we go after that. we were thinking of just going France and Italy, so where within those countries would be the best for us to have a great time, see some great art/architecture, and visit at least one beach. we are planning on being there for a total of 2 weeks and getting a eurail pass to travel around?

  2. I'm not really sure why, with only 2 weeks, you'd bother trying to travel around when Paris is such a great city.

Check this little video (remembering that you can drink in Paris at age 16) of a typical Left Bank hangout: http://www.paris-zoom.com/place.asp?P=Ge...

Hotels in Paris have a wide range of prices but even relatively cheap places can have a lot of charm. The Hotel Nesle is a good place, well located and friendly: http://www.hoteldenesleparis.com/

Even if you do decide to travel to Italy, there really isn't much reason to buy a Eurail pass. I suggest to plan where you want to go and check on the cost of train fare, or better still, check out low cost airlines. You will almost certainly find that the Eurail Pass is not cost effective.

Here's a suggestion, especially if you want to hit some good beaches. You can fly from Paris to Casablanca in Morocco for something like $50 round trip. Check out this website: http://www.jet4you.com/static/fr-FR/inde...

  3. well.. if you're staying in Paris you can book cheap flights to Nice from easy jet or get on the TGV (it takes about 6 hours by train). If you're staying in Nice you might expect to pay 50 to 60 euros a day per room. Nice is close to the Italian border and it takes about 50 minutes to get to Vintimiglia (where there's a huge market held on Fridays). You may as well go to Genoa or Milan , both cities are rather close to the border

    Bon voyage ! .
