Vacation to Scotland, England, or Ireland?

Question

I plan to go visit any of the above countries, so where is the best place to go? I am looking for a reasonable priced cottage maybe that is close enough to walk to if I need to stumble home in a Guiness filled stupor. Also, just looking for a nice area to rest, do some light shopping maybe or some fishing. I travel alot but it is almost never for R&R. The only vacations I get are when they move me to another duty station. I got R&R in Qatar in October 2006 but I was deployed to Iraq so it almost doesn't count....help:)

Dublin attractions to visit; Trinity College, National Museum of Ireland, national Gallery, Cublin Castle, Temple Bar, Christ Church Cathedral, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainham Gaol and Kilmainham Hospital, Phoenix Park. Some Historic buildings to visit are; Custom House, Four Courts, City Hall, Leinster House, Bank of Ireland, Marsh’s Library, Rotunda Hospital, Iveagh House, Powerscourt Townhouse.  By the way, if you are bring children along to the City of Dublin, some place that are suitable for them are; The Ark, Dublinia, Dublin Zoo, My Museum, Viking Splash Tour, Wax Museum, Fry Model Railway, Kayaking, Lambert Pupprt Theatre, Gotham Café.  If you want to visit some performing arts venues, you can consider, National Concert Hall, The Abbey and Peacock Theatre, The Gate Theatre, The Gaiety Theatre, The Olympia Theatre, Andrew’s Lane Theatre, Project Arts Centre, Samuel Beckett Centre, Tivoli Theatre, Focus Theatre.

Southern Ireland, County Clare. Near the 'Burren' , very special place. Turlocks and Lakes, rivers and streams, heath and hills. Pleasant traditional style cottages overlooking the Lake at Kilnaboy, near to Corrofin.

Wow, I didn't know you could do a DNA test to see where you're ancestors are from, but then if there's a demand to find one's pedigree like there seems to be in some places, then of course someone will step in and fill the gap in the market.

In Ireland, you should look for a cottage in a village then, outside of the main cities, if you must drink that gutrot and be able to crawl home afterwards. (I'm one of surprisingly many Irish (born and bred) who doesn't like Guinness.)

Southern Ireland is relaxing and you can always have a great drink or two. Plus what you described sounds like Ireland to be fair.

But you can also do the same in Scotland around the lochs and in many parts of countryside in England; cornwall, devon, yorks, cumbria. cotswolds.

Your DNA test kit you mentioned:

A lot of white English and Irish are descendants of Nordic origins; Scandanavian tribes. That explains the Norway & sweden connection, and the Australian connection is that most of their ancestors are english, irish, scotish from the mass migration and from prisoners.
