Vacation with friend?

This might sound crazy, but I want to fly to Holland from Canada to rent a little vacation house type thing with this online friend I know. I've seen her on webcam and I've been talking to her since 2006. We're really close. She's my best friend and just a year older than me.

My family has the money, and technically my mom could fly me there but it's a long story and really the only way this will work is if I get this house with her for about a week.

The little itty problem: my mom won't let me. I'll be 16, almost 17 and my friend will be 18 (a legal adult). My mom wants to stay in the house with us but we'd really like it alone.

How can I convince her I would be able to take care of myself? I've stayed home alone over night for like 4 days and I was totally fine.

If you were my kid I wouldn't let you go either. Staying home alone by yourself is one thing... flying to another country to be with a girl you've never met in person is something totally different.

So - either accept that you're mom is going to go with you or forget going... Btw - why do you and her need to be alone anyways?

You are talking about flying to another country without your mom, that's a little different than four days home alone. Also, your mom wants to stay with you because she doesn't know this web cam girl. Why do you need to stay alone with her?
