  1. The Waikiki Aquarium would be good for him.  Information on that can be seen here: http://www.vacationidea.com/hawaii/waiki...

Beach activities can be found here:

I hope this is a few good things to help =)

  2. I'm an East cost guy, and previous to going to Hawaii, I had only ever been to California, so it was I real treat to sit by the beach, and some-up some sun, but I was wearing lots of sun screen: Skin Cancer = Bad. Aquariums are cool. Personally I went to pear harbor when I was in Hawaii, it'll be a little trip for you: about a 20-30 min. drive. It is very sad, but I'm sure your son would like to see all the military "stuff". I know when I was that age I loved anything to do with the US military.

Now, back to studying for my 35 paged Algebra exam, joy.

  3. Here are my top 9 things you gotta see/do while in Honolulu (all I have done so have first hand knowledge of how good they are)

    1. Visit the Arizonia Memorial (Warning...emotions you never even thought you had will come out) Probably the only history item that I have never forgotten and throughly loved.

    2. Haleiwa:North Shore: About an hour drive from Waikiki but if you "really" want to see the real hawaii you have to go here!! Haleiwa Town on Oahu’s North Shore. This quaint little plantation town has a wide variety of stores ranging from high end specialty shops, surf shop, and art galleries to shops with affordable authentic Hawaiian made gifts. You can enjoy the day by just walking along the main street in Haleiwa window shopping, people watching or buying items to remind you of your visit to the islands. Website below & a very laid back, with some great restrauants & shops, plan a day of it. Eat a Jamesons By Sea, open air rest. good grinds & afforable.

    3. Haunana Bay: If you like snorkeling with tons of pretty fish..not my fav. because there is so darn many people but great place for pictures...warning lots of walking since you have to walk down hill to the area and then walk back up and no shade.

    5. A bit cheesy for me, but the Polynesian Cultural Center has the best luau (warning they show you a cooking Pig buried in the ground) &  Hawaiian History.

    6. After you leave Hauama Bay, be sure to take a left out of the parking lot..about 1 mile down is the Blow Hole..there is a place to park and take pictures. This side of the island is simply breathtaking & I suggest if nothing else Take This DRIVE..now after the Blow Hole take a right and drive about 4 to 5 miles to the big ol mountain (the one right after you pass the Hawaii Kai Golf Club on your left) There is numerous parking spots on the road & a brand new parking lot..Free parking which is hard to find in Hawaii!!! Awesome place to hike to see it all..takes about 30 minutes to go up and 20 to get down. Dont have to be in great shape(-"

    7. Hike Diamond Head: Not for the lighthearted!!!! So you should be in decent shape because its a long hike with about 100 plus steps near the top and no quick exit anywhere. If anything goes wrong, Pele help you. Seriously.

    8. Kailua if a cool little town with lots of eateries and shops, literally the whole town closes down at like 8-9pm!! If you take the Pali Hwy. you simply go straight and run onto Kailua Road.

    9. In Kailua: Go eat at Buzz's Steakhouse (best on the island) and just so happens to be right across from Lanikai beach, which is the prettiest beach on Oahu.

All these are written by me, I added the one website to show you all the things to do while in Haleiwa Town(-"  Mahalo from Hawaii Kai!! Enjoy your trip.
