What precautions should my friends and I take when vacationing in a dry town?

We rented a house in Ocean City NJ and didnt hear till after we booked that it was a dry town.

We're not heavy drinkers or anything but we do plan on bringing alcohol down there...

What advice to do you have?

  1. I would buy my liquor or whatever it is you drink somewhere beforehand.  I never heard of a place where you can't drink alcohol as long as it is in your house or on private property, there are just places where they won't serve it or sell it.  I remember I was in a NJ restaurant once and we had to go to a package store next door to buy wine, and then we served ourselves in the restaurant.  I don't think it is a big deal unless you plan to go bar hopping.

  2. i live in a dry city. and they only alcohol in my city that you can have is from the restruaunt. and you cant take it off their propery. it kinda depends on their rules. if there is a city nearby that isnt dry (like in my city) you maybe can buy some in their city, put it in your trunk (laws of my city) and then bring it to your rented house.
