Vacations on april... do i need a passport?

im a permanent resident and im going to Mexico for spring break...! i went last year too and i didnt need one.. i just used my resident card... but i hear this year everyone needs a passport... but im crossing the border line in a car not a plane... so i dont know :[ n e one know? thanx :]

NO!!!  You do not need a passport for LAND travel to and from Mexico...that date has not yet been set but will be later than next summer.  You do need a passport to fly out of the U.S.  se 1st website below and read top half of page carefully for CURRENTinfo. As a permanent resident of the U.S., you are reasponsible to keep a current passport from your home country at all times.  If you do not currently have a Mexican passport, you can apply for one at the nearest Mexican consulate.   See2nd website for list.
