  1. You need to plug your television into a surge protector.  Flat  Panel televisions are extremely sensitive electronics.  Your vaccuum is sending electrical feedback into the outlet and throughout your house.  This dirty power can cause noise and modulation in the image and also cause static in your sound.  This can decrease the lifetime of you television.  You can purchase a power center that will clean the power and provide adequate surge protection for about $50.

  2. It could if you persist on doing that.  Turn the TV off when you use the vac.

  3. Don't worry....TV sets have experienced "Vacuum Noise" since the 1960's....and NONE have ever been damaged by a vacuum cleaner...

All you're doing is "seeing" the vacuum cleaner's brushes "sparking" while the motor spins....

And it's easily picked up by the INTERMEDIATE FREQUENCY AMPS....

    They've never damaged TV sets....

  4. It's probably just the Electro Magnetic field from the vacuum rather than a magnetic field affecting the TV.  It should be ok.  If you're worried you could turn the TV off while using the vacuum.  That would reduce the chance of damage.

  5. It could be interference coming through the power line, or from the cable.  Make sure your cable connection is secure and the cable itself is in good condition.  A surge protector may help, but plugging the vacuum into another outlet may also help.  In any case, none of this will damage your TV.
