Vaccum wire cut found an end but it has blk wht and grn wire ..?

HI i have a good vaccum but the lost the end (my dog chewed it off , I have an end to use but this end has blk wht and grn wire!!! can i put both grn and blk wire together?? then wht with wht??..

black should connect to black

white should connect to white

green (or bare copper) should connect to green (or bare copper)

Do NOT connect green to black!

Edit:

Typically speaking, the power comes in through the black wire and goes back (to complete the circuit) on the white wire.  The green one (or bare copper) is a ground wire that helps to prevent certain bad things from happening.
