Vaginal itching before period?

Question

i for the last 5 months have had a severe vaginal itch that comes about a week before my period and usually lets up after my period. i was on ortho lo dose when i started having this issue and had only been on it for 4 months then doc switched me to nuva ring which i am still on. i have also been on zoloft in the last 5 months and recently changed to cymbalta. didn't know if those have anything to do with it or not. just wandering if anyone else has this issue.

have you got thrussh often hormone changes that occur around menstruation results in thrush you can get over the counter medication for this cream or pill

get vagasil and if that doesnt work go see your doctor..

there are alot of products with issues like that at walmart and other drug stores

try vagasil or a douche or any cleanser/anti itch. if u still feel all itchy, then call a dr or a hotline. many people have these issues, like me, i am ALWAYS itchy down there. and i have never had a period. maybe skip meds or watever u can skip for a week (call dr and see if it is medically possible) my younger cuz got hers and she is itchy 1 week b4, thru, and 1 week after, unless she cleanses daily, so get goin!

you definitely need to call a doctor. if you are embarrassed then call a hotline. im sure there are some in the phone book. just explain it and they will tell you if you can buy something over the counter or if you need to go in.also go to your local convienient store and look at the fem products isle and see if there is something there to help like vagisil. good luck

Hey Hun,

I had that too for some reasons. I don't know why. It usually goes away on its own. But i try to keep it clean with feminine wash.

Btw, I find that changing your underwear often, wearing cotton underwear, not wearing pantyliner everyday, changing pantyliner/pads/tampon often, not wearing pants that are too tight etc.. anything to keep it clean down there, really really helps!

Maybe you should try that too and see if the itching stops~

PS: u can also buy vagisil anti-itch cream. It also helps me :)
