I started seeing a man recently. We had intercourse on 5 seperate occasions over the last two months and on 3 of those I developed vaginal yeast infections a couple of days after the intercourse. Could it be related to some type of STD?

I have not been sexually active before this partner for about a year. Before that I have had yeast infections on a couple of occasions but not back to back like this. I am very concerned.

  1. ugh try washing

  2. get checked. use condoms.

  3. It sounds like you have genital herpes.

it is fairly common to contract 2-20 days after s*x.

a lot of people don't know they have it, and yes you can still get the herpes virus without a outbreak let alone u can still get it thru a condom. Unfortunately, that is why you have to really know your partner b/c he could be infected with genital herpes or genital warts and what those both take is "SKIN TO SKIN" contact, him rubbing his genitals on your vaginal area/legs/butt  and that's all it takes to get herpes.

you need to see a doctor, and most likely if ur having reoccurences, it's herpes, bc the virus tends to act like a yeast infection, rash, or appear as a vaginal bump.. but it's really herpes.. see ur doctor..

  4. yeast infections are not really stds but they can be passed during intercourse and men can get them too all though not as commonly as women.

the other thing it could be if there are out breaks is either herpes or genital warts. yeast infections can be the start of a herpes out break (at least it can be for me some times). if your worried then get checked out for stds at your doctors office or local clinic.

  5. hmmm is your partner hiv positive? If you know of because they say when you keep having yeast infections like that it could be a symptom of hiv. Get yourself check for all stds including hiv/aids!
