i think it was 2005 when she started to hit the spotlight and everyone saw another sharapova in her and stuff. then in 2006 she had her best year acchieving heaps and that lifted everyone's hopes for her and everyone saw her a a great threat etc but 2007 was disastrous and same with this year. heaps of 1st round losses including roland garros wich is where she was catapulted to more fame. do u agree that 2006 was her peak and she's just gonna keep falling down?

i just dont see her climbing back up due to her lack of consistency and i just feel the gas in her is all burnt out. i mean she's still young but she could just end up as one of those wasted teenage talents.

btw just because i wrote this doesnt mean i hate her because she was one of my favorite players but i don't believe she'll come on top and become a elite as heaps of people including me expected

  1. I think its a bit early too be writing her off just yet, I mean she is only 19 but I agree it's been a terrible year from her so far. I don't understand her really, I mean she has the weapons to compete with the best but when I watched some of her matches this year I think she's so stupid and stubborn. She trys to hit winners off every ball and when she misses 5 or 10 in a row she still just keeps going for winners, no sign of changing her plan slightly and trying to rally or mix it up a bit or anything. I think she needs to start seeing things clearly and working on her game if she wants her results to improve... she's obviously not seeing things clearly if she's dating Stepanek.

  2. Yeah your right according to many tennis pro's  females tennis players peak when there in their teenage years  that there best years ,  meaning Vaidisova already peaked. but now she has to become wiser  in the game of tennis   and adjust to current situations when her game not working and not break down during her matches.  but still she only 19 and hopefully she will improve her game before she turns 20 next year.

one one time many thought Nicole Vaidsova would be Ana Ivanovic rival since there game the same, but that not the case nicole vaidsova has fail to live up to her hype that many have given her. while ana has been everything everyone always thought she would be, the only thing that missing from Ana resume is a Grandslam.

While also three young and upcoming  teenage players are starting to make there mark in the tennis rankings, victoria azarenka, caroline wozniacki and alize cornet all three which are going to be future grand slam champions and if vaidisova  not careful they might past her in the Rankings this year

  3. When Vaidisova first became familiar to me it was in 2005 when she beat Mauresmo at the French. I too became a fan of hers and thought she would become a huge force in Women's tennis but has failed to build on her promising introduction to the senior tour. She is still a teenager and therefore can still reach her promising potential. I fear though she could be like a Jelena Dokic who rose to fame young and faded away. I hope Nicole does recover-she certainly has the talent.

  4. nah just had an off day

  5. i dunno. perhaps just a major slump for now. i mean, she is still quite young and probably has alot more time than some other players in her position, like petrova and mauresmo,to rebound. honestly,i feel alot of her problems at the moment are due to distractions. she just doesn't seem focused because certainly she seems to still have her weapons....those attributes haven't waned.

  6. She is too young to be burned out. Maybe clay is not her favorite surface since she is a power player and as a big girl her movement is restricted on clay. Or maybe her boyfriend Stepanek is bad luck for her, she need someone better.

  7. No I think she is just going through those troublesome teenage years. She is only 19 and has played Pro tennis for the past 5 so she may be getting a little burnt out but I think it it more psychological than anything. Unless Stepanek introduced her to drugs which I wouldn't doubt. I think she is rebelling against her dad or something to date an ugly dude like Radek unless she likes him since he is also Czech, owns his own condo in town, and was engaged to Martina Hingis until last year. At 19 most girls don't think too clearly. Or perhaps the thought of posing for Playboy has entered into her head. I'm sure after Ashley Harkleroad being the first female tennis Pro to be featured in Playboy another 5 or 6 will jump on board within the next year or two for the easy money. And let's face it most tennis playing females are in great shape with a few exceptions and many are attractive so the money I'm sure will be quite tempting. As for Nicole she has been seeded as high as 7th in the WTA and has earned over $2 million in her 5 years so $400,000 per annum is pretty good pay for such a young woman. I don't think she will be one of the handful that succumb but it may be on her mind. Let's face it being compared to Anna Kournakova would be a compliment for any young female player and she is prettier than Ashley Harkleroad but still I can't see her doing it just yet.

With 6 titles and making QF and SF in Grandslams she is well ahead of Ashley who has 0 titles and only made it as far as 2nd or 3rd round despite being 4 years older and Pro 3 years longer.

  8. I don't think she's reached her full potential yet because she is still young but I do agree that she is burned out right now.  I'm wondering if this story that is still going around about her and Stepanek being engaged to be married and getting a license to marry is somehow related to some of this.  Because the story came up again yesterday during the coverage on the Tennis Channel.

  9. I don't think she's already peaked.  I think she's just having difficulty right now, probably due to coming down with mono late last year.  She just seems to be recovering really slowly.  She still has a lot of areas in her game that can improve, like her temperment, consistency, and net play.  With her type of weapons though, a great serve and huge groundstrokes, it wouldn't be that difficult for her to get back to the success she had 1-2 years ago.  Plus, she has time on her side at age 19.

  10. yes unforunetly i think you are right... 2005 and 2006 saw her best tennis.. but now it seems she is going nowhere but down... and she cannot keep up with players like the Serbs......

it seemed like she was a potential teenage prodogy but just didn't meet expecatations..

i hope for her she can turn things around.. she does have the weapons to be up there with the best of them...

  11. She's still young, she has lots of time to build up her game and bounce back again. I think she has what it takes to be a top 10 player, so let's just hope she recovers quickly so we can see her in her best form again.
