Vakifbank TTelekom ISTANBUL to play Volley BERGAMO in Pool D of CEV Volleyball Champions League
The Vakifbank TTelekom ISTANBUL of Turkey is shortly going to be up against the Volley BERGAMO of Italy.
The two Women’s teams are going to be contesting each other in a 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League match. The venue of the competition is scheduled to be the Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall that is present in Istanbul, Turkey.
The match is going to define the final contest of the preliminary round for the Turkish squad.
The coach of the guest team, Giovanni Guidetti, expressed himself related with the upcoming match in the following words, “This is a very important match for us. If we win, we’ll finish first in the group, so we have to stay very focused and concentrated
as this is our goal. BERGAMO has been playing very well in recent times and they are always a tough opponent. It will be a difficult match as their top players are getting fit but we feel ready.”
On the other hand, the captain of the Italian squad, Gozde Sonsirma, shared her views in the following manner, “This game got additional importance after BERGAMO beat Azerrail BAKU last week. We want to maintain our leadership in the group so we need to
score a clear win.”
It is going to be a competition that is speculated to take on thrilling tones as both Vakifbank as well as Volley are tough contenders. The Turkish squad has been working hard to maintain their dominance in the tournament which is shown by the impressive
performance that they have put up.
The last match that the Turkish team played was on the Tuesday of the previous week. The competition took place in Romania with the home team of 2004 Tomis CONSTANTA. The Turkish did not flinch while playing against the raised odds of being in the home ground
of their opponents, on the other hand, the Vakifbank was able to pull up a win that was achieved after making a clean sweep over CONSTANTA.
In case the Turkish squad is able to achieve a victory over the Italians by 3-1, they would be able to become the leaders of Pool D in the tournament.
