While speaking about the footballing philosophy followed by the Barcelona team, Valdes believes the Catalan giants will do well under their new coach, Tito Vilanova.
Last season Barcelona did not only lose the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League; in fact, they also lost one of the best coaches in their history, Josep Guardiola.
The Catalan coach joined Barcelona back in 2008 and helped them become one of the best sides in not only the world, but also in the history of football.
La Blaugrana were able to touch dizzying heights under their former coach, and were able to shine in each and every competition that they took part in.
Josep Guardiola introduced a new footballing philosophy known as tiki-taka and each and every player was able to adapt to it perfectly.
All the Barcelona players were able to bond in a perfect way and that is the reason why in their very first season under Josep Guardiola, Barcelona were able to win all the six competitions that they took part in.
It was the first time in the history of football that a team was able to win six trophies in a single season.
Last season Barcelona had the chance to win the Spanish La Liga title for the fourth consecutive time and they also had the opportunity to defend their UEFA Champions League trophy. However, they were unable to do so.

Spanish La Liga and they were able to win the domestic league.
Therefore, Josep Guardiola decided to leave the club while the club officials decided to make Tito Vilanova the new coach of La Blaugrana.
With the team now going back into training at the Nou Camp, Valdes believes Barcelona will touch dizzying heights even under their new coach, Vilanova. The Spanish goal-stopper said:
“Under Vilanova there will not be a big change. It is time to be smart and know that after [Pep] Guardiola there is another stage. I'm very confident because we know Tito very well.”
Barcelona were only able to win two major competitions last season, the Copa del Rey and the FIFA Club World Cup.
