Upon hearing rumours that the Catalan mentor might be joining Bayern Munich in the near future, Valdes was surprised and wished his former coach all the luck in the world.
This season Barcelona did not only lose the Spanish La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League; in fact, they also managed to lose their coach, Josep Guardiola.
The Catalan mentor took over Barcelona 3 years ago and helped the Catalan team reach dizzying heights. The team under Josep Guardiola was considered to be one of the best Barcelona side; and also one of the best footballing sides in the history of football.
However, after Jose Mourinho took charge of Real Madrid, the Portuguese coach kept on trying to bring down the Catalan outfit, and during his second season he managed to do so.

However, this past season, Jose Mourinho established a strong Real Madrid team and came out with all guns blazing. Even though he lost the first leg of the Spanish La Liga against Barcelona, he won the second leg at the Nou Camp and managed to win the Spanish
La Liga before the season ended.
After losing out on the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga, Josep Guardiola announced that he will no longer be serving as Barcelona’s first-team coach and the Catalan mentor did not extend his contract with the Catalan giants.
Guardiola also stated that he will be taking a rest for 1 year and after that he will decide which team he will be coaching next. However, recently there were rumours that Bayern Munich will be luring Josep Guardiola into their ranks and the Catalan mentor
will be their next coach, after their current coach failed to win the Champions League and the German Bundesliga.
Upon hearing this news, the Catalan goal stopper, Victor Valdes responded. The Catalan goalkeeper said that he doubts that Josep Guardiola will be joining the German-based club; however, even if he does, he wished him all the luck in the world.
“I would be surprised if he takes up another challenge now, since he said he wanted to take a year-long sabbatical from football.”
“He would fit in well at any club. No matter where he goes, I would like to wish him the best of luck, unless I have to face his club on the pitch.
“Bayern are one of the greatest clubs in Europe, and he would fit in at any club.”
