Upon hearing rumours that the Catalan mentor might be joining Bayern Munich in the near future, Valdes was surprised and wished his former coach all the luck in the world.
This season Barcelona did not only lose the Spanish La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League; in fact, they also managed to lose their coach, Josep Guardiola.

However, this past season, Jose Mourinho established a strong Real Madrid team and came out with all guns blazing. Even though he lost the first leg of the Spanish La Liga against Barcelona, he won the second leg at the Nou Camp and managed to win the Spanish
La Liga before the season ended.
After losing out on the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga, Josep Guardiola announced that he will no longer be serving as Barcelona’s first-team coach and the Catalan mentor did not extend his contract with the Catalan giants.
Guardiola also stated that he will be taking a rest for 1 year and after that he will decide which team he will be coaching next. However, recently there were rumours that Bayern Munich will be luring Josep Guardiola into their ranks and the Catalan mentor
will be their next coach, after their current coach failed to win the Champions League and the German Bundesliga.

“I would be surprised if he takes up another challenge now, since he said he wanted to take a year-long sabbatical from football.”
“He would fit in well at any club. No matter where he goes, I would like to wish him the best of luck, unless I have to face his club on the pitch.
“Bayern are one of the greatest clubs in Europe, and he would fit in at any club.”
Josep Guardiola won 14 titles during his three-year reign at the Nou Camp.
