Valedictorian then Hawaii?!?

Question

Okay, well my mom told me that if I get valedictorian this year she's going to take me for a week or two to Hawaii. She said I have to just find out where we are going to stay and what hotel. So I want you guys' opinion, which is better Honolulu or Maui or both? And what are some really good hotels there?

If you want to go to a luxury hotel with a great swimming pool, experience total resort ambiance, and are planning on maximum beach time, then go to Maui.  If you are more into seeing & doing things, then Oahu is a better bet.

I prefer Maui, over Oahu. There is alot to do in Maui, with gorgeous beaches, and not as many people as Oahu. You can see many activities listed at http://www.stayinparadise.com/thingstodo...

Honolulu, Oahu is urban. Asians tend to prefer it because it's more rinao (hot and noisy). There's quite a lot of shopping and Asian restaurants.

Maui is slightly larger than Oahu in size, but has about 1/7 the population. Americans tend to prefer it because they don't have to share the streets with about 900,000 people commuting to work and school as they're trying to get to the beach.

It's matter of personal preference, really. A week or two, I'd have a long list of places I wanted to go, food I wanted to eat, and things I wanted to do on either island. I wouldn't get stuck in traffic so much on Maui, but I could take the bus if I wanted to on Oahu.

But anyways...

If you're the kind of person who like to slow down, Maui.

There are a lot places you can go to like Honolulu but not as lively as Honolulu.

If you're the kind of person who is not in that pace, Honolulu.

There are more young people activities in Honolulu, and places young people tend to go to.

Google those places and do some research to give you an idea.
