to let go off their prized asset should a good offer come in.
With the Dutch stopper now himself hinting at a move away from the Dutch Champions, it seems evident that the highly-rated defender will be pursuing his career at Estadio Mestalla the next season.
The right-back has admitted that a move to La Liga outfit is an interesting option. However, he has ruled out such a possibility in the upcoming winter transfer market.
“Valencia are a great club and an interesting option. I know that they are keen to sign me in the summer transfer window. I don't have any plans to leave this winter, but you never know what will happen. Either way, I want to end my Ajax career in a good
way”, Van der Wiel was quoted as saying to the media.
The 23-year-old stopper is a product of the Amsterdammers' fabled youth academy and started his professional career in the summer of 2007. In spite of making his debut at an early age, the youngster showed his class at the back and made rapid development
to his game.
Van der Wiel has thus far made 120 appearances for the Amsterdam giants, netting 10 goals as well while providing rock solid defence.
The Dutch stopper has an ongoing contract with Ajax that will keep him at Amsterdam Arena until the summer of 2013. However, an offer in the region of 12 million Euros could be enough to lure the 23-year-old away from Amsterdam Arena.
