Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia is expected to be back in the Red Devils starting eleven as early as next month, despite initially being ruled out for over a month.
Valencia went on to pick up his injury in a Europa League game, when he came on as a second half substitute against Ajax. The Ecuadorian helped create a goal in the game, but went on to pick up an injury at the same time.
The winger was initially believed to be injured for over four weeks, but from the way things are shaping up, he could be back in the United squad much sooner than anyone expected.
At the moment, it is believed that Valencia could be back for United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, which is set to take place on the fourth of March. Should this be true, then Valencia’s recovery would surprise just about everyone, while proving that
he no longer has the same injury issues that he had earlier in the season.
Ferguson, went on to reveal the winger’s status in his matchday notes, prior to his side taking on Ajax in the second leg of the Europa League game.
Those notes are quoted to have said: "The availability of Ashley Young and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 as natural wide players considerably strengthens our attacking options.”
"And I am sure our strikers are pleased to see them.”
"They will be sorry to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 injured again because he too provides great service from out on his wing, but it's not a particularly serious injury and he should be back in a week or so."
Despite his injuries, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 has been one of the most influential players in the United squad this season. The winger has performed at an exceptional level and is hailed as the first choice winger to be penned down in the squad.
At the same time, he has even gone on to play as a full back for the team and has been brilliant in that position as well.
All in all, Valencia is a player that United just can’t do without and the sooner he comes back, the better it is going to be for the team.
