The Mestalla outfit defeated Osasuna 2-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey clash as they now look to consolidate their place in the next round of the competition.
Valencia travelled to Osasuna, just three days after their La Liga clash, to face them in the first leg of their last 16 round of the Copa del Rey.
Ernesto Valverde led Valencia to a 1-0 win in their recent La Liga encounter, and the Valencia fans were looking forward to another victory over their domestic rivals.
The Valencia boss named several changes to the weekend line-up against the same opponents, as he called on for the likes of Cissokho, Parejo, Viera and Jonas.
However, the home side were looking on to get one over their recent maulers as their manager fielded a consistent line-up.
The away side settled quickly in to the game as Ever Banega and Parejo took command of the midfield and won all the 50-50 battles.
The circulation of play was good for the visitors, but both the teams failed to capitalise on any of their meaningful chances. Jonas' long range effort was first parried away by the home side’s goalkeeper, and Osasuna's Onwu’s drive riffled the side-netting.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 missed a glorious opportunity in the 37th minute, as he was sent clear on goal by Ever Banega’s intelligent pass.
Parejo, however, broke the deadlock after the interval via a magnificent free-kick, and Valencia were fairly rewarded for their hunt of goal.
Another defeat loomed large on the home side and they made several changes to boost their attacking credentials.

Soldado came on for Valencia, in order to get the goal that would kill the game for the hosts.
Feghouli and Soldado were both denied decent chances to bury the game, after being played by Argentine midfielder, Ever Banega.
Alves was also brought into action later as he made a spectacular save before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nino-c28051 hit the post.
There was one late twist in the game as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Soldado-c31367 scored Valencia's 2nd and put the game to bed by tapping in a rebound, after Bernat had forced a save from the Osasuna goalkeeper.
