Valencia thrash Villarreal after Juan Mata and Roberto Soldado score a brace each: Spanish La Liga news

The visitors were lucky not to concede again after the first goal, all credit to some wonderful goal-keeping from Lopez. The score remained 1-0 at the end of the first half-time.
The Los Che wasted no time to double their lead just 11 minutes into the second period. Juan Mata scored his first of the night after some brilliant link-up play with Ever Banega.

Mata scored his second goal of the match in the 73rd minute with a simple tap and Soldado completed his brace two minutes later with a sensational chip shot over the goal-keeper’s head to end it 5-0 for the Los Che. It was a devastating result for the visitors as their hopes for a third spot now looks well out of reach.
Valencia are currently in the third place on the standings table with 60 points whereas Villarreal are six points behind in the fourth place.
