Valencia to Bilbao by train?

I need to get from Valencia to Bilbao by train this June.

Does anyone know how easy this will be, how much would it cost (first class), and whether I need to go via Madrid? And is an overnight train (sleeper or otherwise) an option?

I looked at the RENFE website, but the English-language bit isn't that good, and neither is my Spanish!

There are no direct train services from Valencia to Bilbao, services are via Madrid, Tarragona or Zaragoza.

If you scroll to the bottom of the Renfe home page, on the left hand side of the screen you will see "Seleccione su idioma" - you can choose the language required. The link below is for the english version of the website.

Another option could be flying there. There are reasonably  priced flights. Flights in June: 2nd and 9th - 51€ / 16th - 49€. (Plus taxes)
