Valentines Day crafts for 3-5 years olds?

I'm doing a lesson plan for a preschool i intern at and need some ideas for Valentines Day crafts or activities. Something that teaches basic color and shape recognition w/out too much hassle would be awesome. Anything simple and fun, games, stories, songs etc?

Make cards with people thumb prints (stick arms and legs--draw face right in center of thumb print) that say "thumbody loves you."

ok i have a great idea. u probably have heard of the company Crayola. well they have a website called crayola.com it is a great website. there is something for evry holiday. there are many valentine crafts and activities there. and one of the best part is there are coupons for somethings that u might need to buy. u should try it, and the r quick, simple, and FUN!

Have everyone make simple Valintine's Box or bag and make Valentines for each other. It will be so cute!

Read Clifford's Valentine's Day

Then relate the craft to the book.

Have a big red heart - a small long thin pink heart that is cut in half - those are the ears.  a black heart nose and two white heart eyes - a Clifford made all out of hearts.

get a heart shape for each child ( probably from construction paper, easiest) and hole punch holes for arms and legs on the heart. have the children draw circles for eyes, a triangle for a nose and a smile with small square teeth. there are your basic shapes. after they are finished take their color of choice pipe cleaner and cut them to make the right length for arms and legs. twist them on to the heart through the holes you punched.
