Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden all set for Catalunya Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Ducati Team riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden are prepared to enter the fifth round of MotoGP 2011 season, Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya on June 5, 2011.
It is the second event of the ongoing 2011 season of MotoGP in Spain.
The Ducati duo is pleased to head into a great race event supported by the MotoGP fans from the grandstands.
Valentino Rossi has been able to score a stunning total of nine wins at the venue and further has four podium finishes under his belt. In the 2010 MotoGP season, Rossi was injured later in the season and was forced to miss the Catalan Grand Prix. This is
his first event at Barcelona after his comeback from last season’s injury.
Ducati Team rider Valentino Rossi said, “The Catalan Grand Prix is one of the nicest of the season, for a number of reasons: Barcelona is a beautiful city, the track is really nice – probably my second-favourite after Mugello – and finally, as is always
the case at Spanish races, the grandstands are filled with enthusiastic fans.”
Rossi expressed his happiness to be back at the track while recalling his 2009 season victory after a tussle with former Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo which he won in the end. The team is fully prepared to hit the track and score good points, especially
after Rossi’s first podium of the season and with Ducati. The Italian and his team are working steadily to move up in the championship battle.
The American Ducati rider, Nicky Hayden scored a podium in the 2006 season at the circuit. He won the MotoGP World championship title in the same season and is anticipating a good race day at the Montmelo circuit.
Ducati Team rider, Nicky Hayden said, “Any race in Spain is huge, and Catalunya is no exception. It’s a good track. I made the podium there in 2006, although I haven’t gotten the results I’d like there in recent years, especially last season. I’m looking
forward to it.”
Hayden was feeling nice with a long break, but also said that he enjoys getting busy in consecutive race weekends. Let’s see how both the Ducati riders fare this weekend.
