Valentino Rossi anticipates taking advantage of the strength of his Ducati at Motegi – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi of Ducati believes that his Ducati machine is performing impressively and they will be trying to achieve its full potential at the Japanese Grand Prix.
He told that they will keep working hard with consistency to attain impressive results in the remainder of the season.
The seven times world champion told that he likes racing at the Motegi circuit and he has a positive memory of the last year. Last year Rossi crashed at the circuit in the very first lap of the race however he was able to attain 7th grid position in the
qualifying round. He had expected a convincing race last year if he had not crashed.
Rossi said, “I like Motegi a lot. It’s a nice track with good grip, and I have a positive memory of last year. We steadily improved the bike’s setup over the course of the weekend, and I think I could have had a good race if I hadn’t crashed on the first
lap.”
Furthermore, the Italian rider told that the pace of his Ducati is a bit less therefore it will be difficult to think about attaining the podium however in the last two races they have been able to exhibit impressive results with the same response from their
machine, which he believes is positive.
“At the moment, we’re still missing a couple of tenths with our pace to think of the podium, but at the last two races, we were still able to ride at a good, constant rhythm until the end, which is positive,” he added.
Moreover, he believes that his bike has the potential to show impressive performance at such layout and they will be targeting to get the maximum from their bike. Motegi comprises of 4 straights which can provide a good chance for the riders to accelerate.
Rossi managed finishing the Aragon Grand Prix at the 8th position whereas he attained 2nd position on the podium at Italian Grand Prix. Ducati has been working very hard to make their bike competitive at the circuit.
