Valentino Rossi attains seventh position in the Czech Republic Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi of Ducati was only able to attain seventh position in the Czech Republic Grand Prix, held last Sunday.
He says that he had slippery feet due to lose oil.
He said that his start was well and the early laps were not bad although the bike had started losing oil from the very beginning. He added that the spilling oil went on the footrests, brake and shift levers, which bothered him as his feet were slipping.
Rossi said, “I started well and the early laps weren’t bad, although the bike started to lose oil right from the beginning. It went on the footrests and the brake- and shift levers, which bothered me, as my feet were slipping everywhere.”
Furthermore, he said that he could have done better if his feet were not slippery. He added that he could have finished close to Dovizioso.
The Italian rider said that he had to slow down because his rear tyre started sliding too much after some laps. He added that they will try in the test at Misano in two days if they could find some good solution to the problem, as the problem is not new.
“I probably could have done a bit better without that inconvenience, and maybe I would have finished close to Dovizioso. Anyway, I also had to slow down because the rear tyre began sliding too much after some laps, which has been our problem,” the Ducati
rider said.
He was only able to finish the Brno Grand Prix with a gap of 34.514 seconds from the winner of the race, Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda.
The Italian was the sole rider for Ducati in Brno GP because his teammate, Nicky Hayden faced a crash and got his right hand injured, during the qualifying session at Indianapolis Grand Prix. He is expected to return to Italian Grand Prix scheduled on September
16, 2012.
Rossi is currently having problems with his Ducati. He has signed a contract with Yamaha Factory Racing and will be returning to Yamaha in the next 2013 season. He will be replaced by Andrea Dovizioso who is currently riding for Monster Yamaha Tech3.
