Valentino Rossi blames Marco Simoncelli, Jorge Lorenzo for Le Mans incidents – MotoGP news
Ducati team rider Valentino Rossi has blamed San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli for causing accident with teammate Dani Pedrosa.
Rossi also blamed Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo for his dangerous manoeuvre over Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso.
San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Simoncelli was aggressive during the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France. He passed his fellow Honda RCV rider Dani Pedrosa in such a dangerous way that Pedrosa hit him which caused him to fracture his right collarbone.
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa was immediately taken to Clinica Mobile after the accident and he was diagnosed with a fractured collarbone. In the 2010 season, he had sustained a fracture on left collarbone.
Following the Pedrosa-Simoncelli accident when the Spaniard was being attended upon, fellow riders expressed their disappointment on the rash race tactics of the Italian at Le Mans. Simoncelli was left alone when his compatriot, Rossi also refused to defend
Simoncelli.
The Italian has been keenly watched by the rivals for his hard race tactics and getting in contact with other riders. As the talks highlighted his moves, his actions were being sharply monitored.
Rossi, who finished at third place in the event, said, “I saw the problem between Marco and Dani just one time on TV, but I think this time Simoncelli was too hard. He didn't leave any space for Dani. Coming from the outside, maybe he was braking harder,
but maybe a bit too aggressive because Dani didn't have any room to do anything.”
Before the Pedrosa-Simoncelli accident, the Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo made a dangerous pass over Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso. Due to the focus on Simoncelli the race organisers did not penalise Lorenzo which was also highlighted by
Simoncelli.
This dangerous pass of Lorenzo was noticed by Rossi and he discussed it in the post-race press conference. He said Lorenzo should also have been punished with a ride-through penalty for his act.
