Valentino Rossi hopes to assess their improvements at the Aragon circuit – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi of Ducati desires to re-test their improvements at the Aragon circuit.
He is positive after his long awaited podium with Ducati machine at the Misano circuit and further anticipates convincing performance in the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix.
The Italian rider believes that every race is different and despite attaining 2ndposition on the home circuit he thinks that it will be his first chance to test the improvements they achieved, after introducing a new chassis, prior to the Italian GP because
Aragon is very different from Misano.
Rossi said, “We come to Aragón with a positive outlook after the Misano result, even if we also know that every race has its own story. It will be our first chance to check if the progress we’ve made will also be confirmed at this track, which is very different
from Misano.”
He looks forward to the complex layout of the Spanish circuit and believes managing tyres would play an important role in the race. The team has further installed a swingarm which is expected to add to the grip of the tyres catering to the issues the Italian
rider previously had.
“It’s fast and challenging, and managing the tyres at lean angle is very important. Concerning that, during the test after the last race, we tried a swingarm that I liked as it provides a bit more grip with the bike leaned over and stresses the tyres less,”
he added.
Furthermore, he said that after the Aragon GP they will be able to fully understand their progress because of the challenging layout it has. The circuit consists of two longs and several turns which may give an edge to the unorthodox strategy formulating
teams.
Ducati have changed their priorities towards improving the bike especially after the seven times world champion has announced his new contract with his old Yamaha team. The Italian has earlier stated that he will support the team in collecting useful data
and giving impressive performances over the circuit until his last day of the current season, when his contract with Ducati ends. The purpose of such support will be to aid the next rider with a solid platform.
Let’s see how their efforts reap in the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
