Valentino Rossi says he not regretting his decision of joining Yamaha – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi says that he has no regrets over his decision of joining Yamaha Factory Racing for the next 2013 season, despite making his way to the second place on the podium at the Italy Grand Prix with Ducati.
He believes that he will do his best with Ducati until the last race with the team. He said that there are several reasons due to which he wants to give impressive performances. He mentioned that one of the several reasons due to which he wants to give convincing
performances, is that if he leaves a good project for the following riders it would depict that he and his team did well.
Rossi told Motosprint, “I have no regrets. As a professional I will do my best until the afternoon of the last race. I'm trying hard to get good results, for different reasons but especially for this one: if at the end of the year we leave a good project
that can be used well by other riders too, that means that my team and I have worked well.”
Talking about his decision to join Yamaha he said that he took ample time to finalise his decision however he believes that the decision was taken early in the season because in the MotoGP world they have to plan their future. Besides, he said that he has
no regrets of his decision. Additionally, he said that another factor which could have influenced his early decision is his age because he wants early results.
Furthermore, he told that he had anticipated that the chassis of Ducati would be easy to handle but it was not the case. It took a significant time and still they were unable to improve the old chassis.
The Italian rider told that he was able to generate impressive speed with his Ducati in the longs as well as in the corners. He explained that it is due to the new chassis which is identical to the previous one but it can be modified more, comparatively.
The seven-time world champion said that he was able to make it to the podium because they found favourable conditions however it would not be so easy in the following races.
