Valentino Rossi seeks an improved Ducati after the test at Italy – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi of Ducati remains motivated to show impressive performance after some improvements with his machine.
The Italian Grand Prix will be his last race at the home circuit with his Ducati, as he has announced that he will be moving to Yamaha Factory Racing in the next 2013 season.
The Italian rider is satisfied with the performance of his bike after the improvements they have introduced during the test they did two weeks ago in Italy. The main task ahead is to evaluate the performance of his Ducati in accordance with the performance
of other riders as many other teams have introduced improvements to their bikes.
He said, “Two weeks ago we did a test here with some new stuff, and they were two good days with quite good performance and feeling.”
The improvements they introduced include new chassis and a new swingarm with modifications in size, position and the stiffness. The seven times world champion believes that the bike performed better than Brno, during the test session. The improvements are
further expected to aid them in achieving impressive results in the remainder of the season however if they had to further improve the bike, they will, to achieve their target of impressive result in the remainder of the season.
“It’s a new chassis and a new swingarm with some modifications in the size and the position and the stiffness. The comparison in the test was better than the bike I used in Brno. We have a lot of different races [until the end of the season] where we can
try to improve the bike. Our target is to do some good races from here to the end,” the Italian rider said.
Rossi has earlier mentioned that he is not comfortable with the grip of the front tyre. It was the motivating factor due to which he signed a contract with Yamaha although he was reluctant because he has a lot of acquaintances in Ducati. He further told
that he wants an improved bike in this part of his career.
Let’s see how the seven times world champion performs at his home soil, after the improvements they have introduced during the test session.
