Valentino Rossi speaks about his issues with the Ducati machine – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi disclosed his sentiments about the Ducati bike in an exclusive interview with the official website of MotoGP.
It was a difficult decision for the Italian rider to leave the team, for the next 2013 season, where he has a lot of acquaintances.
He told that the factor which motivated him to leave Ducati was that he wanted a more competitive bike for him at this point in his career. He added that the switch was difficult for him because he knows a lot of great people associated with Ducati.
Rossi said, “For me to take the decision for next year was very hard, because in Ducati I know a lot of great people. I made my decision because at this point in my career I think I have to try to have the more competitive bike, or the best bike for me.”
The Italian rider said that he had started facing problems from the very beginning of his career with Ducati. He added that they were unable to fix those issues until now and it is due to those issues that he remains uncompetitive, until now.
“This experience, this adventure with Ducati was very difficult already from the start. And unfortunately we were not able to fix our problem during this year and a half, and I was never competitive with this bike,” he said.
Talking about the Desmosedici project, he said that they were unable to attain grip with the front tyre. He added that this was biggest problem they faced for the Valencia Test 2010 and it still remains, even after two years.
Furthermore, he told that he anticipates that he and Jorge Lorenzo, of Yamaha Factory Racing, will have few problems, as compared to the past. He added that the championship leader is very positive with his return in the team. Besides, he told that the main
thing is to attain positions with the bike and have fun while riding the bike.
Moreover, he said that he is not sure whether he will be as fast at Lorenzo with the Yamaha machine or not.
