Valentino Rossi tests his shoulder on the track with Ducati 1198 – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi gave a shot on Ducati 1198 just few days before prior of first MotoGP test of 2011 at Misano.
It was similar to the test he performed last year with Yamaha R1. This was a great opportunity to test his fitness level after a broken leg. He used the Ducati 1198 ride to ensure his after shoulder surgery in mid-November.
This is totally legal to ride a non MotoGP machine out of official tests for which Rossi used a Ducati 1198. It is prohibited for riders to use a prototype before official season starts.
Next week in the Sepang, Rossi will officially ride a MotoGP Ducati machine after his recovery. In UAE, he will be marking full Ducati and Marlboro gear for the first time.
“First of all, thanks to Filippo (Preziosi) and to Ducati, who organised this test,” said Rossi. “Misano Circuit let us use the track on a day when Mattia (Pasini) was planning to ride in order to confirm his own condition.”
Rossi added, “The track has given us the answer that more or less than I expected: my shoulder hurts. Especially under braking when I'm sick at the front where they sutured the tendon. The structure is quite stable and we are going pretty well as resistance,
but for the rest, I have a lot of pain and little strength.”
“The track more or less confirmed what we expected: the shoulder is painful—especially under braking, when the front area hurts, where they stitched the tendon. Movement is stable enough, and we’re also doing not so bad with endurance, but apart from
that, it hurts a lot and isn’t very strong,” the seven-time world champion added.

Let’s see how he fares in the 2011 MotoGP season with his new team, Ducati.
