Valentino Rossi will be rejoining Yamaha for the 2013 season – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi is to return for the Yamaha team in 2013 after he ends his contract with Ducati at the end of the 2012 season.
The Japanese Manufacturer has confirmed this news that the seven-time champion will be joining the team next season.
However, Ducati also announced that Rossi will be leaving the team following a disappointing tenure coming to an end at the end of the current year. Rossi has been with Ducati for the last two years and has not been able to perform to his potential. The
rider struggled to remain competitive in the two seasons and has only managed two podiums and not even a single victory so far.
On the other hand, Yamaha and Rossi has remained to be a fruitful team. Rossi first joined Yamaha in 2004 when he moved from Honda. Rossi won the championships of 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 seasons.
“This announcement is once again excellent news for Yamaha,” said Yamaha's Lin Jarvis. “In June we were able to sign Jorge Lorenzo for the 2013-14 campaign and now we are able to confirm Valentino Rossi for the next two years. In doing so we have been able
to put together the strongest possible team to challenge for victories and to promote the Yamaha brand.”
“I have no doubt that with the experience, knowledge, skills and speed of these two great champion riders we will be able to challenge for many race wins and for the 2013 & 2014 World Championship titles,” he added.
Rossi will be rejoining Yamaha alongside the Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo. The duo have partnered up once before at Yamaha, before Rossi left for Ducati.
It has been revealed that the Italian rider has signed up for a two-year deal with the Japanese manufacturer.
Rossi said that he is hopeful for a fruitful time with the team. He said that he will be working really hard and do his utmost to achieve the goals of the team and his own.
It will be interesting to see how Rossi will perform with the Japan based team in the coming seasons.
