Agent of Valeri Bojinov has confirmed that his client will be looking to go on loan for the remainder of the season and said that a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 could be on the cards.
The Bulgarian International has become a misfit at Estadio Jose Alvalade after he generated a lot of controversy in the League Cup tie against Moreirense.
Sporting had dominated the proceedings but the game seemed to be heading for a 1-1 in the closing stages. However Jeffren won a penalty and offered his side a chance to take the lead.
Matias Fernandez was ready to take the spot-kick but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valeri-Bojinov-c35853 pushed away his teammate and forcefully decided to take it himself despite the protests of everyone around him. The 25-year-old also ended up missing the penalty and was met by roars of
disapproval from the home crowd.
His actions also outraged Domingos Paciencia and the club are now going to press disciplinary charges against him. His future in Lisbon is all but over and according to reports, the Lions are keen to farm him out for the rest of the campaign and then perhaps
sell him in the summer.
A number of sides have expressed an interest in taking the former Manchester City man on a temporary basis, with Levski Sofia also confirming their bid through their president.
The Bulgarian club have stated that if Bojinov is willing to make a return to his homeland and that if Sporting will allow him to leave, then they would make a permanent offer for him.
Todor Batkov also reiterated his admiration for the attacker and said that he had tried to secure his services when he was playing in the English Premier League a couple of years ago.
Bojinov’s agent has also confirmed Sporting’s stance and said that his client could return to the Serie A.
“I can confirm Sporting’s intention to loan out Valeri until the end of the season. The player had a little luck and it happened because of the missed penalty.”
He also revealed that a host of clubs in Europe had been keeping tabs on the former Parma man but he favoured a return to the Italian league.
"There are clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032, for example. I was not contacted by Fiorentina but I think Valeri would like to return to Italy,” Jerry Palomba was quoted as saying.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759 and Fiorentina have also been linked with a swoop for the front-man and since he favours a return to Italy, the Gigliati are the front-runners in the race to sign him, although they haven’t made any official contact with Sporting Lisbon over
the potential transfer.
However there are still a couple of days to go before the window closes and Bojinov should depart Lisbon in favour of greener pastures elsewhere.
